#193 Lots of Layers

Chanya 13 is hosting our challenge today, and the theme is Lots of Layers

As usual anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece, some home decor, as long as it has lots of layers to match the theme.

Please remember our 15 total challenge rule!

Some inspiration from our fabulous DT

Chanya 13

Today I prepared an invitation for a baptism. I used blue papers - it's for boy. Added chipboard which I covered by embossing powder, Marianne Design doily and flowers with leaves.

Josephine

An image from Delicious Doodles coloured with pencils, papers from Papermania, die cuts from Spellbinders and Tattered Lace and a computer-generated sentiment, and lots of layers!

Mary

I have used toppers and papers printed using My Craft Studio's Wondrous Wildlife CD ROM.

Judy

I made this card for my husband's birthday. The digital image is by SLS lines which was coloured with Copic Markers.

Angela

All the layers on this card have been created using stencils and stamps and finished off with coloured pearls. Happy crafting, Angela xXx

Glenda

The card is for my BIL and features a QKR image, and has seven layers. His birthday follows shortly after the Calgary Stampede (he is from Calgary) so thought he would enjoy it.

Lin
My card was for my Niece who is struggling with Chemo after a forced stay in hospital with cellulitis and neutropenia. Up until that point she had been so positive and I wanted to encourage her to remain that way. I couldn't resist these lovely flowers from JOFY and the sentiment was perfect too. More details on my blog

Margaret

The card I have created is for a very close friend's birthday. I have used 3 paper layers, 1 of corrugated board, 1 of chipboard and two tags .. 7 layers in all.

Sally

For my card I have used a Hummingbird stamp and some papers from Craftwork Cards to create my layered project.

Jackie

I don't usually have lots and lots of layers on my cards - so for this one I thought I would keep it relatively simple and used a Hunkydory stackable pad I got for my birthday. All the elements came from 2 sheets in the pack, apart from the gold mirri card I used for the base layers of each bit. I counted up to 6 layers if you counted the ribbon strips!

Pam

I usually do not use a lot of layers on my projects, so this was very challenging for me. I have used seven layers to create this notepad holder. The image and sentiment are Altenew. The notes image was created from a Lawn Fawn alphabet stamp set. I have to admit, layers to add quite a bit of interest. :)

Marlene

I have used a Candibean Stamp from Dis Digi Downloads coloured her with my Promarkers and added a Marianne Design Die, flowers, double ribbon Bow and a Butterfly Die

June

I have used Spellbinders's Ovals to create several layers and embossed the Gazebo die, also by Spellbinders, in pink to add another layer beneath the white die cut gazebo

Maike

I have used many different stamps by Lawn Fawn to create an underwater scene. With the theme "Many Layers" in mind I used some patterned paper and a frame o the front, layering one of the star fish on top of the frame. Also the inside of the card is actually another layer that you can lift to write a message beneath.

This challenge will run for the normal two weeks and finish on 30th July, but we will then be taking a break until August 21st!

#192 Tic, Tac, Toe

Marlene is hosting our challenge today, and the theme is Tic, Tac, Toe. Please choose a line from the grid below, either top to bottom, left to right, or diagonally.

As usual anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece, some home decor, as long as your all the items in one straight line from the grid. Please mention in your post which line you are using so we can check quickly that it complies!

Please remember our 15 total challenge rule!

Some inspiration from our fabulous DT

Marlene

I have used a LOTV Stamp coloured with Promarkers. This image reminds me of the 1950's as the image is called Bobby Socks. The line I have used is Pearls or Gems, Stamp or Digi and Die- Cuts

Josephine

I've followed the left-hand vertical line, so I've got stitching, gems, and I don't know about you, but butterflies definitely mean summer to me! I've used a Tonic Sew Pretty die and a Martha Stewart border punch for my butterflies.

Judy

I followed the line from bottom right hand side to top left, summer, stamp or Digi and embossing wet or dry. I used an silhouette stamp that I embossed with a black and silver embossing powder. I love the summer scene. I used the tri-fold card and added an extra frame.

Mary

I used the bottom row of the grid. The background papers are from Tattered Lace's Village fete CD ROM and the digi, also from Tattered Lace, is called summer breeze.

Glenda

I used the diagonal line from top left 'Gems or Pearls', down to the bottom right 'Die Cuts'.

Agnieszka chanya13

I made a card for gold anniversary. I used line: pearls - digi - dies.

Lin

I've gone with the diagonal line Die cuts, Image, Pearl see my blog for details

Angela

For this card I chose Gems, Stamps and Die Cuts. I had lots of left over pieces from an earlier project so this was a good time to use them up. What can I say, it's different!

Maike

I have followed the diagonal line from the bottom left to the top right and had a lot of fun creating this summer card using images from Gerda Steiner Designs.

Pam

I chose to follow Summer, Stamp and Dry Embossing for this challenge. This gorgeous mermaid is from Impression Obsession, the sentiment is Rubbernecker and the embossing folder is Taylored Expressions. A very fun challenge!

Jackie

I went for the top line with my card - Gems, ribbon or twine and embossing (heat) for my nautically flavoured card this time.

Jac

I chose to go diagonally with Summer - love seeing hot air balloons on a lovely summer evening Stamp/digi - Hot air balloons stamps by PTI and Embossing - cloud embossing folder. The hot air balloons and cloud dies are also by PTI.

June

I chose to use the right hand, vertical column and embossed a tag for the sentiment, add cute green buttons along the ribbon and die cut the pink roses

#191 Here Comes Summer

June is hosting our challenge today, and the theme is Here Comes Summer, appropriately themed given our hostess' name!

As usual anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece, some home decor, as long as it's Summer themed.

Please remember our 15 total challenge rule!

Some inspiration from our fabulous DT

June

I used 2 Distress Inks to colour my white card, giving it a tropical look. I die cut the embellishments and chose the word 'hola' in keeping with the tropical theme, and added a cocktail above the letter 'a'

Josephine

A card for one of my husband's brothers, and what says summer more than the seaside! I've used an image and paper from Pamela West, and completed with some matting and a computer-generated sentiment. What can I say? The men in our family don't do fussy!

Mary

When I think of summer I think of a colourful garden full of flowers. I have tried to conjure this up with the use of various Tattered Lace dies and Promarkers.

Judy

When I think of summer I think about the beautiful colours of all of the flowers and the butterflies . I have used alcohol inks in several colours on my background and then added a die that reminds me of my parents fence when I was growing up. The butterflies also were coloured with Alcohol inks and a white gel pen.

Margaret

Summer to me means hot days, and lots of flowers in the garden. My card is made with papers from the Vintage Summer Basics range by Maja Design and I've added some pretty flowers, sisal, twine, gauze and lots of prills and micro beads.

Glenda

Who cannot love Summer, the best of all seasons (especially if you live in a colder climate). I used this wonderful image from Tiddly Inks to represent our Summer theme. I coloured her with Copics and Prismacolor Markers, added some colourful background paper and to complete the theme, a couple of flowers .

Jac

So what says summer more than ice cream! For my card I have used the adorable Ice Cream Izzy from Simply B stamps, coloured up with copics and chameleons papers, paper is K & Co as is the frame and metal rimmed tag, added a die cut doily and leafy swirl and finished off with some little prima flowers and a candy dot

Lin

I created the background with Distress Oxides and then stamped Kay Carley's stamps to create a Summer Garden, and coloured with Koh-i-noor Watercolour Pencils. More details on my blog

Jackie

My card was made for a friend who was feeling down - I used the new Hunkydory USB key to print off my images which were mat and layered onto black card to make them pop and then added to a 6 x 6 card.

Angela

Summer always reminds me of hazy days in the garden which I've tried to show in this card. I coloured the background with Tim Holtz Oxides and then used a variety of Paper Artsy stamps for the detail. I finished it with a few blobs of Stickles Glitter glue.

Agnieszka chanya13

Summer for me are full of flowers, colors and butterflies. I love to spend time in my garden. So today I have a very romantic card for you.

Kimx

When I think of summer I always think of bright, hot colours and flowers so here is a card full of orange background papers and a fabulous old Magenta flower.

Maike

When I think of summer I think of relaxing holidays and a lovely time at a beach. To create the center piece I used some images from the "Life is good" set by Lawn Fawn.

Pam

I have great memories of playing golf on summer evenings in Ohio. I thought this adorable Lili of the Valley Image was a perfect fit for this Challenge. I made a notebook cover for a 4 x 6 paper pad. Fun and easy to make and cute too!

Sally

For my card I used the 'Summer Holiday' stamp set from Hobby Art along with one of their texture stamps and Polychromos Pencils to colour.
